Clothes swap
The secondary school's Green Team – a group of students committed to making their school more environmentally friendly – recently launched an initiative that had been close to their hearts for some time: a clothing swap. The aim of this initiative is to give new life to clothes that are gathering dust at the back of wardrobes.
The event took place over three weeks:
- During the first week, pupils were invited to bring in clothes they no longer wore. Eureka, the lost and found centre, also donated clothes that had not been claimed for quite some time.
- During the second week, members of the Green Team sorted the clothes and purchased rails and hangers.
- This week, the actual exchange took place: on Monday and Tuesday, only pupils who had donated clothes were allowed to participate, with each pupil entitled to take home a maximum of five items. Since Wednesday, the event has been open to all members of the school community, with the possibility of taking up to three items. Any clothes that have not been taken by the end of the week will be donated to a charity.
The initiative has been quite successful. Feell free to drop by again this Friday, during your 11 o'clock break or at lunchtime!
We would like to congratulate the students of the Green Team who took charge of organising the entire initiative – from planning and promotion to manning the stall, sorting and purchasing materials – and thank everyone who took part!
