Holding meteorites: Touching the Cosmos
From November 10 to 14, we had the pleasure of welcoming a Portuguese researcher, Dr. Vera Assis Fernandes, a geologist, who carried out two expeditions to Antarctica to collect meteorites.
On Monday, more than 400 students attended the Integrated Sciences workshop, and throughout the week they had the opportunity to observe meteorites under the microscope and also, for comparison, terrestrial rocks collected from different locations across Europe.
This project, coordinated by Prof. Inês Bruno, aims to motivate students towards the sciences.
