Structural works 2023-2024 - practical consequences for P1-P2 pupils of the Woluwe site
The replacement of the primary building walls is expected to start during the summer and to be completed around Christmas.
We will then need 5-6 additional weeks to reorganise the 17 classrooms involved.
Based on this information, we have drawn up the following plan for the 2023-2024 school year:
- The P1-P2 pupils of Woluwe will be transferred to Evere for the whole of the first semester, from September until the Carnival holidays. This decision is motivated by organisational and pedagogical reasons. We will take advantage of the summer break to move 17 primary classes to Evere. Between 250 and 280 pupils are affected.
The transport service offered by the APEEE will be adapted accordingly. A shuttle service between Woluwe and Evere will also be organised. We hope this will ease the logistics for families who will temporarily have nursery/primary school children attending two different sites. The daycare and extracurricular activities will also be adapted. We would like to thank the APEEE and the OIB for their goodwill and active cooperation in this project.
The representatives of the classes concerned will be invited to an information meeting organised by the management in collaboration with the APEEE and the OIB on the Evere site on Thursday 11 May. This meeting will allow us to discuss the organisational and pedagogical details, and will give them the opportunity to visit the Evere site.
A site visit will also be organized for all parents after the May break. Practical details will be sent to you in due time.
This reorganisation has nothing to do with the decision of the Board of Governors concerning the new structure of the European Schools in Brussels. We are talking about a temporary move due to major works.
